Stay off the Roads

On Tuesday, July 17, Michelle got her learner's permit.  I've taken her driving a couple of times in the neighborhood and she does a good job.  She goes very slow, and I'm a bit of a nervous copilot, I admit.  But she's excited to be learning and she is cautious. 

Family Dinner

On Sunday, we had a family barbecue in our backyard.  We had such great food, but even better company.  My grandpa was there along with Elaine.  My mom and Mike, Suzy, Rebecca, Evan, Sarah, Hannah, and my family were all there.  Rebecca took lots of photos of the family.

Pineview Reservoir

On Saturday, we played games in the morning.  Then we headed to Pineview.  We rented a kayak and a paddleboard and had fun in the water.  The water temperature was PERFECT!  It was such a great afternoon with cousins.  Rebecca and I were able to talk and enjoy time together and the kids all had so much fun!  Ella wasn't feeling real well, so she mostly relaxed on the beach...but everyone else tried kayaking and most of us tried the paddle board.  So!  Much!  Fun!

There were tons of cliff swallows flying in and out of this cliff right behind us on the beach. I  enjoyed watching them.

Blackridge Reservoir/Oquirrh Mountain Temple

On Friday morning (July 13), we went to Blackridge Reservoir.

 At lunchtime, we went to pick up Ella after her week at Oakcrest.  We were SOOO happy to have her home.  We really missed her!

That afternoon, Michelle, Ella, Sarah, Rebecca, Suzy and I headed to the Oquirrh Mountain Temple to do baptisms.  It was so peaceful there.
