Read and Win...tickets to the State Fair

My girls read books all summer and by doing so, they got tickets to the Utah State Fair.  We've only gone once before...it seems like a lot of money to me for what you get.  But since they got in for free, plus each got one free ride ticket and one free drink ticket, we spent about 3 1/2 hours there on Saturday.

We spent time looking at the different projects that 4-H students had created.  We saw the pigs and cows and sheep and goats.

There were two reindeer, Comet and Dasher.

Ella and Gabby both enjoyed touching the animals.  Mostly, Michelle didn't want to.

I thought this display was pretty cool...it's all made out of beans/seeds.

There were some street performers.

The girls each got to choose one ride to go on.  (I am a mean mom and wouldn't pay for them to go on lots of rides.  But not very mean because we did get hot dogs and hamburgers.  Then later we got a scone, a funnel cake and two snow cones.)

We watched Chinese dancers perform and we watched Murray City Band perform a few songs.

Scales and Tails was at the fair, so we checked out their crocodile, tortoises, snakes and lizards.

A fun day with darling girls!
